Once you find out ways to make them delicious, it seems like a no-brainer. This recipe was inspired after coming across Emeril Lagasse’s <a href="http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/emeril-lagasse/oven-roasted-cauliflower-with-garlic-olive-oil-and-lemon-juice-recipe.html" target="_blank">Oven-Roasted Cauliflower with Garlic, Olive Oil and Lemon Juice</a>. I wanted to make use of some white truffle oil that’s been sitting in my pantry, so I added a little to the mix. It was the perfect complement to the Italian flavors in this dish. You can toss all the ingredients in a large bowl before pouring onto a platter, or you can save a dish and just mix it all up right in the pan!<span id="more-1870"></span></p> <p>I roasted for 15 minutes, topped with the Parmesan, and broiled on high until the mix was bubbly and a little browned. </p> <p><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-1925 size-large" src="http://www.thatsquareplate.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/roasted-cauliflower-600x399.jpg" alt="Roasted Cauliflower and Onions | That Square Plate" width="600" height="399" srcset="https://www.thatsquareplate.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/roasted-cauliflower-600x399.jpg 600w, https://www.thatsquareplate.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/roasted-cauliflower-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.thatsquareplate.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/roasted-cauliflower-789x525.jpg 789w, https://www.thatsquareplate.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/roasted-cauliflower-800x532.jpg 800w, https://www.thatsquareplate.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/roasted-cauliflower.jpg 1000w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p> <p>The results were heavenly. And the recipe is really insanely easy. It’s hard to mess up! I used only a half of a cauliflower for my late afternoon snack, but a whole cauliflower would work for two or more people. This is such an amazing side dish!</p> <p><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-1881" src="http://www.thatsquareplate.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/DSC_7393-01-600x399.jpeg" alt="Roasted Cauliflower & Onions | That Square Plate" width="600" height="399" srcset="https://www.thatsquareplate.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/DSC_7393-01-600x399.jpeg 600w, https://www.thatsquareplate.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/DSC_7393-01-300x199.jpeg 300w, https://www.thatsquareplate.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/DSC_7393-01-790x525.jpeg 790w, https://www.thatsquareplate.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/DSC_7393-01-1000x665.jpeg 1000w, https://www.thatsquareplate.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/DSC_7393-01-800x532.jpeg 800w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /> <img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-1882" src="http://www.thatsquareplate.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/DSC_7396-01-600x399.jpeg" alt="Roasted Cauliflower & Onion | That Square Plate" width="600" height="399" srcset="https://www.thatsquareplate.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/DSC_7396-01-600x399.jpeg 600w, https://www.thatsquareplate.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/DSC_7396-01-300x199.jpeg 300w, https://www.thatsquareplate.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/DSC_7396-01-1000x665.jpeg 1000w, https://www.thatsquareplate.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/DSC_7396-01-800x532.jpeg 800w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p> <p> </p> <div class="blog-yumprint-recipe blog-yumprint-standard blog-yumprint-condensed " yumprintrecipe="pHwb" itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/Recipe"> <div class="blog-yumprint-recipe-title" itemprop="name">Roasted Cauliflower and Onion</div> <div class="blog-yumprint-recipe-published" itemprop="datePublished">2015-04-25 18:54:31</div> <div class="blog-yumprint-serves">Serves 2</div> <div class="blog-yumprint-recipe-summary" itemprop="description">Who knew cauliflower was so versatile?! This is a recipe I came across from a viral Pinterest pin “Baked Buffalo Cauliflower” from Persnickety Plates (<a title="Original Recipe from Persnickety Plates" href="http://www.persnicketyplates.com/buffalo-cauliflower/" target="_blank">click for her recipe</a>). I modified a few of the ingredients according to what was in my kitchen. They turned out incredible. They fill the boneless-buffalo-wing-void that happens every once in a while. I served them with Gimme Some Oven’s “Skinny Greek Yogurt Ranch Dip” (<a title="Skinny Greek Yogurt Ranch Dip" href="http://www.gimmesomeoven.com/skinny-ranch-dip/" target="_blank">click for her recipe</a>). This meal was a somewhat healthy dinner after a big Easter lunch. The whole cauliflower was plenty for both Greg and me — we couldn’t completely finish it!</p> <p>I will be making this again and again. It’s a tasty way to use some cauliflower!<span id="more-1798"></span></p> <p>Here’s what you gotta do:</p> <p>Preheat your oven to 450 degrees F.</p> <p>To make the batter, mix the flour, water, and spices together. </p> <p>Throw cauliflower in batter and toss around. Really you should use your hands to make sure each floret is coated. </p> <p>Spread out on a parchment paper-lined pan and bake for 15-20 minutes. </p> <p>Rinse our your bowl and add the melted butter and buffalo sauce. Remove from oven. Toss the baked cauliflower in the buffalo-butter sauce, and serve warm with ranch dressing or blue cheese dip.</p> <p>I served mine with a “Skinny Greek Yogurt Ranch Dip” from Gimmesomeoven.com.
